Ty-Hafan Appoints Lloyd Davies of Convey Law As 1st “Corporate Ambassador”

Children’s Hospice announces new initiative and recognises Conveyancing Company’s Managing Director in first appointment.

Lloyd Davies, Managing Director of Newport Property Lawyers, Convey Law, has been appointed as Ty-Hafan’s first Corporate Ambassador. The position is in recognition of the support that Mr Davies’ company, Convey Law, has provided to the children’s hospice over the last 4 years.

In 2010, Convey Law launched their pioneering Charity Lotto and the company has since donated almost £150,000.00 to Ty-Hafan. The competition offers clients with the opportunity to win a refund of their conveyancing legal fees by donating £10.00 to Ty-Hafan. In addition, the staff at Convey Law have raised funds through monthly dress down days, cake sales and parties as well as sponsoring and taking part in numerous Ty-Hafan fundraising events including the Midnight Sleep Walk, the Taff Trail Cycle and this year’s inaugural Rainbow Run.

As a Ty Hafan Corporate Ambassador, Mr Davies will be tasked with encouraging other businesses and associations to fulfill their corporate social responsibility and working with them to support and promote the great work that is undertaken at Ty Hafan. As the first “Corporate’ Ambassador, Mr Davies joins a select group of Ty-Hafan ‘Family’, ‘Charity’ and ‘Celebrity’ Ambassadors who work with the hospice, including Welsh rugby star Leigh Halfpenny.

Ty-Hafan provides expert care, support and short break care for life-limited children, young people and their families. The Ty-Hafan Children’s Hospice is based in Sully near Cardiff and provides support reaching across the whole of Wales. The hospice requires £3.7million annually to function and relies heavily on the donations of its supporters, receiving just 4% of its budget from government funding.

Last week, Mr Davies visited Ty-Hafan as part of their Children’s Hospice Week and commented: “I am honored to be in this position and to be able to work with Ty-Hafan. Working with the hospice is a fantastic and eye-opening experience. The work they do is nothing short of wonderful and to be able to support them in whatever way possible is a privilege.

I would like to thank everyone at Convey Law and Monmouth RFC for their hard work in supporting Ty Hafan as their chosen charity. I look forward to working with other business, clubs and institutions that are keen to support and raise awareness for Ty Hafan.”

Alison Stallard, Head of Business and Community Fundraising at Ty-Hafan commented: “We are delighted to have appointed Lloyd as our first Corporate Ambassador. Convey Law have been avid supporters of Tŷ Hafan for many years and have raised a tremendous amount to support our work with life-limited children and their families from across Wales.

“It has been fantastic working with such an enthusiastic and committed team and we hope their innovative fundraising efforts will inspire other businesses to support Tŷ Hafan”.
