Conveyancer Reaches £6000.00 in Cancer Research Wall of Death Quest!

Geraint Aubrey, a Conveyancing Lawyer at Convey Law, continues his fundraising and training ahead of ‘Wall of Death’ challenge this summer.

Geraint has succeeded in raising £6,000.00 of his £10,000.00 fundraising target for Cancer Research. Geraint is raising funds by undertaking a ‘Wall of Death’ 3 peaks challenge in the Alps this summer. The challenge will see Geraint attempt to summit three peaks in the Alps in just three days, all at over 13,000ft! The challenge will include the notorious Eiger – famous for its ‘Wall of Death’ ascent which has claimed the lives of 64 climbers in the last century.

The conveyancer from South Wales has undertaken a specialist 12 month training regime and spent last weekend scaling 300ft sheer rock faces in Snowdonia, as well as tackling the ‘Crib Coch’ ascent of Snowdon, Wales’ highest peak. The ascent of Crib Coch is described by the Snowdonia National Park Authority as ‘a serious challenge even for the most experienced of climbers, there are drops either side of the route of up to 2,500ft’.

Geraint’s employers, award winning conveyancing specialists Convey Law are sponsoring the expedition and their pioneering Charity Lotto has donated over £3,000.00 to the cause so far. The competition offers clients the chance to win a full refund on their basic legal fee by donating £10.00 to Convey Law’s chosen charities.

Geraint commented as follows:

“I am over the moon to have raised over £6,000.00 for Cancer Research this quickly. There are still 3 months until the expedition and I am now very optimistic of raising well beyond the £10.000.00 target. The training has been tough, but equally exciting and the trip to Snowdonia was a great exercise. The Eiger will be an exceptionally tough and technical climb with no small amount of danger so I will need to continue to push myself in training to prepare. I would like to thank everyone who has donated so far for their support and generosity.”

Maria Parker ,Cancer Research UK’s Local Fundraising Manager said:

“ We are delighted that Convey Law are getting behind Geriaint’s challenge of climbing the three Bernese Peaks. Cancer Research UK has made huge progress from 1in4 people surviving for more than one year in the 1970’s to 2 in 4 today surviving for ten years or more. However, this is still not good enough and it is our ambition to change these statistics to 3 out of 4 people surviving cancer for ten years or more, within the next 20 years, less than a generation. Companies such as Convey Law who partner with us to raise funds are making a real difference and helping to beat cancer sooner and for this we are extremely grateful.
