Conveyancing Training Manager

The description below describes the nature of the role and is not limited to the tasks set out.  The individual may be required to provide additional support when requested.

  • Job Type: Permanent, Full time
  • Location: Newport Office based
  • Salary: £35,000.00 to £45,000.00
  • Reports to: Group Training Director

Job Purpose:

To lead, deliver and manage training along with the existing Group Training Director within the Convey Law Training Academy. Managing trainee performance through to graduation as Conveyancers and qualified professionals. Implementing and identifying best practice training and development solutions, policies, and procedures.  Achieving the highest level of success and performance for Academy trainees.

Essential Skills:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Conveyancer at a senior level.
  • Must have previous training/supervising experience.
  • Ability to identify early performance issues within the team and able to manage this effectively and rapidly.
  • To identify effective resolutions to training gaps and implement these with those concerned.
  • Able to listen and resolve day-to-day issues quickly and concisely within the team.
  • Proficient written skills to produce accurate and up-to-date policy documentation for the Academy.
  • A CLC, SRA, or CILEX qualification is desirable but not essential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To record the trainee conveyancer’s competencies accurately and in line with our training pathway as well as completing audits.
  • Deliver group and 1:1 training sessions with the trainees on a daily basis and in line with the Training Pathway.
  • Ensuring all Academy trainees are given the appropriate level of training needed to perform their conveyancing roles effectively and as per the required competencies.
  • To monitor, review and amend training in line with business needs, performance levels and best conveyancing practice.
  • Effective performance management of trainees with early inventions where required.
  • Provide support to the Academy Supervisors as required to ensure the trainees are well-managed and are achieving their competencies and KPI’s.
  • Continually identifying ways of improving the knowledge, skills, and behaviours of trainees to enhance trainee performance and the training experience.
  • Working with external providers where appropriate to support the growth and development of individuals within the team.
  • Managing and leading required training and development projects.
  • Implementing best practice policies and procedures for the Academy trainees.
  • To identify key attributes and potential skills of new recruits, ensuring high performance and retention of successful trainees.
  • Supporting the creation of courses and operational structures to support the Academy’s objectives.
