Business Development Manager – Midlands

Job Title: Business Development Manager
Job Type: Permanent, Full time
Location: West Midlands, East Midlands & the North
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 pa basic plus unlimited bonus package based on volume of instructions
Reports to: Commercial Director

Job Purpose:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the generation of purchase and
sale instructions, for conveyancing services from estate agents, mortgage brokers and
associated financial service institutions.

You will need to book appointments, attend meetings, discuss proposals and perform
demonstrations of the company’s services. You will have to be able to travel extensively to
client locations within your assigned region.

You will have to be passionate about sales with the ability to develop and build confidence
within a team that are already delivering consistently high results.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Travel throughout your sales territory visiting clients on a regular and recurring basis
  • Achieving performance targets for sales, efficiency and quality
  • Contributing to the development of the sales team and sharing best practice
  • The ability to present new products and initiatives
  • Evaluate clients’ needs and generate new leads within your sales territory
  • Build long lasting client relationships
  • Meet personal and team sales targets
  • Report and provide feedback to management
  • Manage your client pipeline within your assigned territory
  • Represent the brand during all customer and prospect interactions
  • Manage multiple accounts simultaneously 
  • Educate clients on how our products and services can benefit them financially and professionally
  • Demonstrate an understanding of industry competitors, new products, and market conditions
  • Travel throughout the territory and visit clients on a regular basis

Essential Skills

Skills and experience required for the Business Development Manager:

  • Proven sales experience
  • Experience of working to sales targets
  • Maintaining and increasing sales of the company products
  • IT Literate
  • Ability to analyse sales figures
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance 
  • Critical thinker with problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • FCA experience would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Experience in selling conveyancing services
  • Experience using a CRM based system is also desirable

Full clean UK driving License will be required.
