Ty Hafan

Tŷ Hafan offers comfort, care and support for life-limited children and young people and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the whole family. This comfort and support extends out of the hospice and reaches right into the heart of the family home, and is completely free of charge to the families in Wales who need it.

Tŷ Hafan was established in 1999 and since then has helped over 400 families, who live the dreadful reality that their children with life-limiting conditions may not reach the age of 19.

Children suffer from various conditions, such as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Cystic Fibrosis and Celebral Palsy. Some children are diagnosed at birth; others receive no diagnosis or at some point the decision maybe made to stop treatment. As you can imagine, families often feel shocked, confused and isolated. But they are not alone, there is a helping hand and it’s called Tŷ Hafan.

Tŷ Hafan is not prt of the health service and receives just 13% statutory funding towards the more than the £3million needed to provide care and support to life-limited families. To continue to offer its unique service to families, it relies on the generosity of the public, its corporate sponsors and volunteers.

Our target for 2012 is to raise in excess of £35,000.00 For Ty Hafan

At the start of 2010 Convey Law introduced the Ty Hafan Free legal competition to our clients to begin a fund raising campaign for the Ty Hafan. By actively encourage members of staff, introducers of business and clients to join in with our fund raising activities the effects were immediate and our fund raising achievements and activities have grown from strength to strength.

In 2011 we raised £34,153.41 for Ty Hafan and £2,021.42 for various other good causes.
