Ty Hafan offers comfort, care and support for life-limited children and young people and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the whole family.
This comfort and support extends out of the hospice and reaches right into the heart of the family home.

Ty Hafan was established in 1999 and since then has helped over 500 families, who live with the dreadful reality that their children with life-limiting conditions may not reach 19 years of age.

Ty Hafan is not part of the health service and receives just 13% statutory funding towards the £3million needed to provide care and support for life-limited families. To continue to offer this unique service to families, Ty Hafan relies on the generosity of the public, corporate sponsors and volunteers.

‘A Big Wish For Chase’

Appeal to raise £40,000.00 for life changing surgery for a 6 year old from Monmouth – Chase Vaughan.

Chase is 6 years old and has cerebral palsy. Her condition means that she walks on her toes, has tightness in her leg muscles, has poor balance and coordination, tires easily and often falls over. She wears splints on her legs and has to undertake intensive physiotherapy each day to ensure her muscles are stretched. Despite this she is a very happy, sociable little girl who is very determined. A surgical procedure is available which will allow Chase to walk effectively and change her life forever.

Unless Chase has Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery within the next 12 months, it is likely that she will be wheelchair bound by the time she goes to secondary school.

The surgery required is not funded by the NHS in Wales and together with post surgery physiotherapy will cost £40,000.00.
